Cosmology ¶
The Netherbloom, the branch of infinite existance. The living cosmological structure of which all planes of existence grow shift and decay.
“The Netherbloom does not sit within creation… it is the shape of it. All planes grow within its form: golden petals that cradle the heavens, the living stem that bears the Mortal Grove, and roots that coil through shadow into black blossoms that burn beneath. The Scar did not wound a single world… it tore through the Bloom itself, and Thalureth was where it bled.”
— Othello Thayden, High Acolyte of the Remnarcan Archives
Thalureth presents itself as a layered reality, rising from shadow toward radiance… yet this structure does not extend infinitely, but bends, returning inward upon itself.
| Plane | Description |
|---|---|
| The Empyrean Bulwark | A fortress of divine light, the radiant crown that holds darkness at bay. |
| Thalureth, The Mortal Grove | The fragile sanctuary of finite life, scarred by fog yet growing anew. |
| The Veins of Shadow | Subterranean roots where corruption seeps and coils unseen. |
| The Great Dark | The infinite void, hunger without growth, swallowing all below. |
| The Choking Veil | The suffocating inversion, ash-fire binding the world in a shroud of despair. |
Together, these layers form a single, continuous structure. While they appear to rise from darkness toward light, this ascent is not without end. Bending beyond perception, curving back upon itself until the highest reaches of the Empyrean give way once more to the pressure of The Choking Veil.
The Choking Veil does not sit solely beneath the world, but presses inward from its outer boundary, appearing both below the Great Dark and reflected across the Empyrean above. In response, The Empyrean Bulwark radiates upward, meeting this pressure wherever it manifests and holding the structure intact.
"as above…as below…"
